Like the 1955 doubled die, the 1972
doubled die is a class I rotated hub
doubling.  Doubling can be seen on the
date, LIBERTY, and IN GOD WE
TRUST.
There over 9 different double die
obverses known for this year.  DDO 2
shows the second most doubling and it,
and the other DDO's for this year, can
be mistaken for DDO 1.  Do not
confuse these, because DDO 1 is worth
considerably more.

Counterfeits do exist.  Look for a small
die gouge above the D in UNITED.  Be
aware that counterfeiters are also aware
of this gouge.

Purchasing certified examples in
recommended.
