slightly east of the primary mintmark.
This coin has been listed in the Red
Book and on PCGS in the past.
The lower D can be seen better in earlier
die states.
This variety is listed in CONECA's top
100 RPM's.
This coin is the #9 most wanted in The
Complete Price Guide and Cross
Reference to Lincoln Cent Mint Mark
Varieties by Brian Allen and John
Wexler.
This repunched mintmark (RPM) shows
a secondary D completely south of the
primary mintmark. It is not as bold as
RPM 8.
There are two ways to distinguish the
two RPM's: 1) the secondary D is
directly below the primary D in RPM
#18. In RPM #8 the secondary D is
slightly to the East. 2) the location of
the D in relation to the 9 and 5 of the
date is totally different. RPM #8 has a
primary mintmark that is much closer to
the date.
The lower D can be seen better in earlier
die states.
This variety is listed in CONECA's top
100 RPM's.
This coin is the #2 most wanted in The
Complete Price Guide and Cross
Reference to Lincoln Cent Mint Mark
Varieties by Brian Allen and John
Wexler.
