The 1984 Doubled Die Obverse
(DDO) is a result of a Class IV
doubling, or "offset hub dubbling" just
like the 1983 ddr 1. Instead of the
image being rotated, such as the
1955 doubled die, the image is
shifted vertically.
Doubling can be seen on the chin,
bowtie and earlobe. The doubling on
the earlobe can be seen with the
naked eye! It may be possible to find
this variety in circulation.
